Hi guys so a while a go I started watching the TV show Once Upon a Time (which I am obsessed with by the way I am all caught up and it's amazing). I started thinking about all the childhood fairytales that I used to read and how they've had an impact on the things I adore now. Firstly the story of Peter Pan has really been with me my whole life I used to have a really old school Disney video tape of it that I used to play all of the time. Then when I got a little older I read the book. I honestly adore the story of Peter Pan and the idea of a magical land called Neverland. I was also a very based child who loved Peter Pan and hated Hook. I loved the idea of all the children been taken to Neverland in their dreams. It was only a couple of months ago that I really clarified my love for Peter Pan when I re-watched the Disney film that I hadn't watched in years that I loved fantasy stories and where they can take you. I think this is why I love Once Upon a Time so much as it is my ideal world of fairytales from my childhood with a twist that I think just add a little extra to all the stories. One of my favourite quoted from Peter Pan is 'The second star to the right, and straight on till morning' as when i was younger I had dreams of going to Neverland and living the stories of the characters from the film. The Peter Pan story from Once Upon a Time was always one of my favourites as I loved the story when I was a child and I was able to see how others interpreted it.
Another story that was very significant to me growing up when I was around 8 or 9 I believe was Alice in Wonderland. The whole concept of Alice in Wonderland appeals to me so much as obviously i really love fairytale, fantasy stories and it was able to make me think of a place where everyting was crazy but it somehow made sense. When I was younger I loved the idea of Wonderland and everything it holds and all the magic there. As I have grown up I have also grown to love all the characters and how they are all different and special in their own ways and how they all intertwine so beautifully. I have always been a massive lover of the Tim Burton movie adaptation of Alice in Wonderland as I feel the movie makes everything look so real and magical and as if you're there with Alice on her adventures. When I was a lot younger before i read the book I was a big lover of the Disney film but now I love the Tim Burton version so much more.
So I think I may have just rambled at you all a little about my favourite childhood stories enough I do believe that these stories will stay with me forever. I do hope yo all have a great rest of the week.
Love you all...
See you soon...
